Rev. Sledge went on to be with Jesus in August 1999. He was a friend, mentor and companion in the faith. His lovely wife Lela, though alive is also listed in our memorial page.
God continues to use Sister Lela to minister God's Word in Song and the preaching of the Gospel. She and her husband have held the offce of Pastor, Missionary, and Evangelist, spreading the gospel to a few or to many, to rich or poor, to the common man on the street or to doctors, lawyers and government officials.
The Sledges were always dedicated to God and to the building of His Kingdom. Even though this ministry has come with a great price, they both counted it all joy to have suffered for the sake of the gospel. Lela continues on with the ministry; Rev. Fred Sledge passed away earlier this year.
